Senior Portrait at UVA Gardens Charlottesvile Virginia
Standing next to the antique captial, which presumably come from older architecture of the university that has since been replaced, Maren Stands for her senior portrait. This photograph is in one of the many decorative gardens at the University of Virginia, enclosed by serpentine walls layed of brick, and white picket gates. Ivy covers much of the walls, and there are tiers and benches in key places. Flowering shrubs, plants and trees are painstakingly planted to provide well thought out patterns of color throughout spring, summer and fall. This fall portrait session showed bits of yellow leafs changing color and some late blooming flowers. Photographing senior portrait sessions in the gardens at the University of Virginia is one of my favorite places to photograph high school seniors. There are so many great places with such a beautiful backdrop full of colors and textures, and architecture. Image shot with a Canon 5DMIII and a Canon 24-70mm f/2.8 and a Profoto B1X strobe with settings at ISO 100, at 53mm and an aperture of f/3.5 and a shutter speed of 1/200th of a second. Image processed with Adobe Lightroom, Adobe Photoshop and Alien Skin exposures.Location: University of Virginia.
